In less than 48 hours, the first match of the Women's World Cup will start, and I just posted the bets on the first two individual matches on hp_footballbets.

To participate in this part of the game, you don't have to bet a ficlet/drabble. Just fill out the polls. One point for each correct guess. We'll close each poll when the particular match starts and accumulate the points after the final. The winner(s) will receive a lovely banner for her profile page.

No warnings : Just three good reasons not to click on the LJ- cut.

It isn’t beta’ed. I’ve the best betas in the world, but in this case they’re also the recipients.

It’s too long. 500 words of starched, white uniforms with, perhaps, a bit of Quill-tickling thrown in was what Tetley hoped for. 3k of waffling and a second-hand neck rub is what she gets. Ah, well. It’s an imperfect world we live in. If it weren’t, Holland would have beaten Germany in the finals.

And it’s OOC verging on the crack, but I’m not to blame. Tetley started it, Miss, she wanted to play at Role Reversal. And then it all just … happened. Liek whoah.

We're ten ~~losers~~ lucky people who will have the pleasure to write a drabble for one of two even luckier people, namely kelly_chambliss or tetleythesecond, who won the betting pool.

Let the fun begin!

Eight matches before the end, have another update of The Statistics. vane_nt is still in front, now with 33 correct guesses. Yours truly follows with 30, and bendleshnitz1 with 29 (though the distance between us is bound to change soon because I trust we'll be betting on different teams next Saturday /g/.) Betting Stats After Group Stage

Hello, Participants!

It's Tetley, your numerically challenged statistician, with another attempt at a weekly update. Nothing has changed in the leadership, but there has been a little bit of shuffling among the followers.

As it is, vane_nt is still the uncontested Master Guesser with 26 correct predictions, followed by bendleshnitz1 and tetleythesecond with 23 and tjs_whatnot and shocolate with 20. pale_moonlite and winterwitch follow with 18 correct guesses each, and kelly_chambliss is steadily catching up with 14.

In terms of correct guesses this week, the crown goes to tjs_whatnot, who totally deserves this honorary mention, what with being the first participant who will definitely have to drabble. (But fear not, many of us will be joining you shortly.)
