I would absolutely love it if both the US and the Netherlands did well. The Netherlands because, well, they're the raciest fleet of vans in the world, and the US because everyone always mocks them how they're no good, but (a) that's not true, and (b) they have team spirit, which I love.
(Yes, I realise that my bet is on Ghana, but I had to say something -- and they're the last remaining African team, they played very well against us, and my partner roots for them. Still. If one can bet on Spain for the finals but root for Oranje when it comes to that...)
On that note, I just read an article on www.spiegel.de that there's a small right-wing fringe group in the US that condemns soccer for being Un-American (read: Marxist, communist, socialist) and says it can't hold a candle to baseball. Which is true. I don't sleep half so soundly in a soccer stadium as in a baseball one.
