kelly_chambliss, who I have never even heard of - so I hope this is OK - for the
hp_worldcup_bets, where I ended up I-know-not-how, straying into a shippy area I am completely unused to - but they won the contest and predicted the World Cup champions, so I have to write a ficlet for them, as a prize.
Tenth Anniversary

"I didn't think he liked these commemorative occasions," Rosmerta said, peering long sightedly at the dais, where Harry Potter had stood to give his speech.
"He couldn't refuse, this year," Minerva replied, "not when he's just been made Chief Auror. Politics."
"He's certainly come a long way," Rosmerta remarked. "Ten years ago he was such a scrawny little thing."
"He was not," Minerva replied indignantly. "He was rather... undernourished as a child, but at eighteen he was a fine young man."
"Oh, I know you always had a soft spot for him," Rosmerta said, "but at eighteen he was still a child."
"A child with the responsibility of saving our world," Minerva protested.
"I'm not saying that his... achievements weren't impressive," Rosmerta said kindly, "but I like a man who's something to look at. Someone... taller."
"And red haired," Minerva said waspishly.
"Well, I wouldn't say 'no' to the new Deputy Chief Auror, no," Rosmerta said.
"And you didn't, as I recall," Minerva pointed out.
"You know how soft hearted I am," Rosmerta said serenely. "I couldn't turn away a man who was suffering like that. He'd just lost his brother."
"You were at school with his father," Minerva said primly.
"But I never slept with his father," Rosmerta replied.
Minerva snorted inelegantly.
"Anyway," Rosmerta said. "I was never in loco parentis. There is nothing wrong with being seduced by your barmaid."
"Meaning?" Minerva demanded.
"Meaning you were suspiciously close to Potter, and you were his teacher," Rosmerta hissed, glaring at her friend.
"I did not seduce Potter," Minerva whispered fiercely.
"You wanted to," Rosmerta said, turning to face the man in question and standing to applaud, cheering with the rest of the crowd, as his speech ended. "Shame you were in in loco grandparentis."
